Science has shown you can die of boredom, literally, but is it a sin? One definition of boredom describes it as "an emotional state experienced during periods lacking activity or when individuals are uninterested in the opportunities surrounding them." Using this definition, I would say boredom is definitely a sin. We should never be in a state of lacking activity, but should always be praying and giving thanks to the God who created us (1 Thess. 5:16-18); and we should certainly not be uninterested in the opportunities that God has provided for us (Hebrews 13:5).
